This photo was taken two years ago, but it was at the same time of year, and today looks exactly the same, so that is why it is here. I have always liked this picture, and since today I cannot go somewhere to get a good view of our overcast skies, this one is my choice.
Chic is in the photo, and it was taken in part of the Petroglyph National Monument which is less than five miles from my house. This portion of it has several extinct volcanoes, and is quite a nice hiking area. Chic is standing on top of one of the volcanoes overlooking the desert and city below. The mountain in the distance is part of the Sandia Mountains, but is somewhat obscured by the clouds.

I just hope that the posting of gray skies is our symbol for remembering the 9/11 attack.
This is very beautiful. I can imagine being able to clear my lungs and breathe freely. Wide open spaces do you good. I can see why this is one of your faves.

Thanks for all the nice comments you leave in my blog…you crack me up. To answer your questions…yes, there is always something new to learn in Photography…especially in Photoshop. That program is limitless…at the conference even the instructors were sitting in other instructor’s classes learning new tricks.

I think Chic adds just the right touch to the beautiful scene before her. I had a red headed little girl too, but somehow she grew up into a red headed mother of four. Sadly none have red hair. Great shot!
